Cancer and kids benefit tonight and more

I will be attending the Maine Childrens Cancer and Kids benefit tonight at Dimillos Floating Restaurant downtown Portland this evening. It's one of my favorite fundraisers of the year!! This year.... I will be donating a bunch of autographed 8x10s f some past and present Boston Red Sox such as Hanley Ramirez, Curt Schilling, David Murphy, Kason Gabbard and Juston Masterson.

Since 1995 I have been donating autographed 8x10s I have had the players sign for me for numerous fund raisers. The 8x10 images are pictures I have taken of the players and they have always been kind enough to sign them for me. I do not sell these autographed 8x10s on any auction sites or to people. These are totally for fund raising purposes only.

I would just like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. Enjoy your time with friends, families and loved ones. Today is a day to celebrate and put any ill feelings aside and be kind to all. Hopefully people can carry that feeling with them moving forward.

To all of you out there that have come to visit my site over the past few months must have noticed I haven't done anything to update it...

Well that's because all hell broke loose. I just moved to Beverly, Ma. I had to get settled in. In the mean time..

I had a virus on my site but no web master to take care of it since my old web master and I parted ways. I had to find a new one... Somebody that is web savvy and somebody I could trust.

This process took a little while and finally every thing ended up working out. The bad thing was.. This virus knocked my site for a loop. It had to get repaired. I didn't want a new site.. I like this site just as it is.

So now that the final kink has been fixed.. I am glad to say I am going to be back in action!! Thank you all for your patience and support.

I will be posting some new images here over the next few days and writing in my news section again keeping you all posted on what's going on in my world of photography. Hang on tight as I get all geared up to start the updates!!

I am pretty excited about tonight as I will be the house photographer at Club Felt in Boston for tonights VIP viewing party for the hit shows Beverly Hills 90210 and Melrose Place. It was a fun season...

I'm bummed out that the Boston Celtics lost tonight in Game 7 of the playoffs against the Orlando Magic....I had a great time watching their games with my friends as well as going back and forth to Boston to watch them live as well...I am hoping next year will be a different story...We had a few guys banged up and the rest if the team seemed exhausted...Oh well...Maybe next year!!

I have been 5 years in remission from colon cancer!!

I went to a Celtics game a few months ago and always tape the jumbotron...During a time out..They played Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer and all of a sudden this kid went nuts...I laugh through the whole thing...So my friend Tommy tells me I should post it on youtube so he can show his friends...So I did and now it has gone global/viral and is getting 2000 hits a day or even more!!

Runway Fashion Show benefit for "Cling" this coming Sunday Feb. 15th..I will be there popping off some pics and socializing for a great cause.

My Valentine Fashion Show' which will be held at Eggspectations in South Portland, Maine on February 15, 2009 at 8pm.

The show will be put on by a newly founded non-profit organization called Cling. Cling was created in memory of Heidi Shultz, whom passed away in 2006 from cancer. Heidi shared many visions and had a legacy to change the world. One of the ways Cling is taken on her vision and legacy is by helping raise money for children's needs and health services in developing countries, as well as hospitals in the US. 

The fashion show will be featuring Bless by Bless Couture, a well-known clothing line out of Boston, MA, as well dress wear from David's Bridal and Models will be both former and current Miss USA contestants, as well as professional models from New York City and Boston. Volunteers will also be helping out with the fashion show, backstage as well as on runway.

The night will be filled with music by one of Maine's best club dj's DJ HUZZ, fashion, and drinks. Stewart Smith, an award-winning photographer from Portland, will be photographing the evening. There will be an auction and 50/50 with all proceeds going to support Cling's mission.

Tickets can be purchased for 10 dollars at the door at 7pm.

I will be photographing the VH-1 Reality Stars from Real Chance at Love "The Stallionares"

I look forward to meeting some of you at the Stallionare party this coming Valentines day...I will be giving away a few $100.00 gift certificates to some lucky ladies who are there dressed to impress.

AUBURN - The Stallionaires of the No. 1 "Real Chance at Love" reality franchise on VH1, will appear Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Lavish Nightclub & Bar, 34 Court St. in Auburn, Maine.

The three brothers, Real, Chance and Micah, will bring their band and comedy act to the club (formerly No Tomatoes and Midnight Blues Club), where they will interact with the audience and be available for photos.

I am happy to announce that I was recently interviewed by one of Maine's favorite and respected TV/News personalities Bill Green of "Bill Green's Maine."

Bill Green's Maine airs Saturdays at 7:00pm and has become the most-watched show in its time period.

I will be a feature on this show on January 17th at 7pm on WCSH 6.

Bil asked me a bunch of questions and also hung around while his crew taped me doing a photo shoot of this years Miss Maine USA 2009 Ashley Underwood who was a standout women's basketball player at UMO .

Mark Teixeira and the New York Yankees...

Photography is my life but the Boston Red Sox and my dislike for the Yakkes are a big part of it as well and here is a side of me that just my closest friends only see that I want to share with all of you...I cannot stand  Mark Teixeira  and the New York Yankees.

I am and always have been a huge Red Sox fan since the age of 8 years old....Yes I have been disappointed many times but must say this past decade has been pretty sweet...I was satisfied with one world series never thinking of seeing the boys win two with in such a short period of time of each other..

So anyways...I don't care who the hell the Yankees get...Yes they are picking up some big names but it doesn't mean the Red Sox have no shot in hell now...I think Mark Teixeira is not the answer to help the Yankees make it back to a world series spot for 2009....I am sick of these ball players and their agents trying to see how much money they can get out of a team....I still think the Boston Red Sox have a great team, they all get along and have great chemistry and nobody on the Sox is just about themselves like what the Yankees have like your A-RODS of the world.....Now the Yankees have 4 or 5 A-Rods....Good luck New York......I still think the Yankees suck and hope this deal they just made comes back to bite them in their asses!!...

Thanksgiving means more than just eating Turkey to me...

I would just like to say that Thanksgiving means more than just a good meal to me...

I had some time to myself today and asked myself...What am I thankful for....As it being 2008 I can reflect and look forward to many things such as...My Health, My Family, Friends and new acquaintances, a new year, my goals, my dreams, my drive, having a roof over my head, food on the table, my business, the support and love I receive from so many of you, new peace on earth and happiness.....I'm sure there's more but that's the majority...I hope you and your family have a warm, happy and safe Thanksgiving!!

I would also like to say that this was the best pageant I ave ever photographed...Mackenzie Davis did a great job as being state director by having all the right people involved....Well done Mackenzie!!.....I would also like to say that our 2008 Miss Maine USA Kaetlin Parent not only did a great job at being a title holder for the year but she did a great job behind the scenes as well putting on this show!! Kaetlin made us all proud and represented Maine like no other!!...Our Miss Maine Teen Avery Barr did a great job as well and has become a role model to many....Great job ladies!!

Paying my respects to my good friend Ed Szalajeski.

I fight back the tears as I write this...The lump in my throat must be the size of a golf ball...I found out earlier this evening that a fellow professional photographer and professional good person and good friend of mine Ed Szalajeski lost his life to complications from a heart surgery that took place on Wednesday, November 12th...Ed passed away at 9pm on Thursday November 13th as I found out earlier this evening from a call made by his wife.

The photo of the two of us was just taken last Saturday at Scarborough Downes by my girlfriend Lisa... I am so glad she just randomly took her little camera out and snapped it... I believe this may be the only picture of the two of us ever taken.. Ed was one of the Track photographers and always came over to say hello to Lisa and I with a  big smile on his face and advice on who to bet on.

Ed was one of the nicest guys I knew..Always happy-go-lucky with an upbeat attitude like no other...From day one when we met..We were always good friends...One day Ed came up to me with a not to happy expression..I asked him what was wrong and he told me some jerk broke into his car and stole his camera gear...He later said to me he wished the thief all the best of luck and hope the thief enjoyed taking pictures with his stolen gear and smiled, shrugged his shoulders and said "whatcha gonna do"... Life goes on....That said alot about the type of person he was...Ed loved his wife and son and was always talking about some nice images he just took of his son and his dad at an apple orchard...to see the image...click here.

I will miss the hell outta the big guy!! He left us way to soon!! It will never be the same at the track not seeing him shooting the horses coming in across the finish line or playing fantasy baseball with him..His team name was the Evil Homers and we laughed on how he knocked me out of this years playoffs... I told him..I'm gonna get you next year!! Sadly...That will not happen...

Ed was the type of guy who would do anything for you and never ask for anything in return...He always looked at the brighter side of things.... Always put a smile on your face.... Always gave you his complete attention when in conversation... He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met and I wish I knew more people like him.....

I am not sure when Eds funeral will be but I will keep you posted..... I would like to Thank you for your prayers for Ed, his wife and son and family.

I can't believe that it's been a year since my dad passed away.

I miss his laughter, sense of humor and story telling....He is missed by many....I miss you dad.

I would just like to say Happy Halloween to you all....I can remember how excited I was when I was a kid going to school in the morning and talking with my friends what we were going to be later on that night for trick or treats...I would break out the good old pillow case and stay out all night filling that thing and then trading the candy with my friends later on that night.

On another note...I am anxious for tonight as I will be going to the Celtics game against the Bulls sitting in Box seats!!

Fashionably Pink

I would like to thank all of you who made it to the Breast Cancer Susan G. Komen FASHION SHOW event in which took place at Eggspectations this evening.

I would like ot thank all of the beautiful models who did their thing on the run way, the USM Dance Team, the wait staff and workers from Eggspectations, the vendors and people who donated their time and goods.

I will keep you all posted on the next event.

I raised $1,050.00 for Womens Breast Cancer today and am on cloud nine!!

I would just like to share with you all that my fundraising reached an all time high this morning....I raised $1,050.00 today for the Womens Breast Cancer of Maine Foundation with the help of the Radio Station Q 97.9, Boston Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury and John Lester and some great people out there that bid on their autographed 8x10's that I donated to the cause...

I met up the the Q 97.9 morning team at 8am while they were doing their annual bottle drive in raising money for womens breast cancer since October is the Official Breast Cancer Awareness month... I went to help promote the Breast Cancer benefit I was a part of on October 25th for the Susan G. Komen Cancer fund that was taking place at Eggspectations.

While visiting the Q 97.9 team..I told them I would love to help the also raise money too...I at first only donated 1 8x10 of Jacoby Ellsbury that was autographed....With in 5 minutes they closed the bidding at $150.00 and that was it.....Until I asked Morning personality Lori Voornas if I could donate another autographed 8x10 only this time it was of Red Sox stud pitcher John Lester....Lori was excited and went on the air saying I was going to donate another 8x10 autographed picture and it was of a cancer survivor himself John Lester...

The phone lines lit up and went nuts...the bidding started at $50.00 and rose to $150.00 with in 30 seconds...Soon we were at $500.00....I was so excited!!...Then it went up to $600.00...The bidding was hot and heavy...As both bidders reached $700.00 Lori had a great idea....She asked me how many prints I had left of John Lester...I knew I had two left..The other ones were auctioned off a long time ago at other benefits....Lori asked both bidders if they would be happy to pay $700.00 each and each get 1 of the autographed 8x10's that are only limited to 5......They both agreed and Bang!!! With in 30 minutes..I helped them raise $1,050.00 and I will never forget it...Thank you to the Q 97.9 Morning show, Jacoby Ellsbury, John Lester and the awesome people that bidded on them and gave their money for a great cause!!

I am happy to say that my 3rd cover shot and photo spread is all over the city of Boston. I have enjoyed shooting for Barstool Sports and meeting everyone I have been working with.

The Models and Martini's Runway show raised $700.00 for the Maine Children's Cancer Organization!!

I am very proud of how well everyone did at the Models and Martini's runway Fashion show my friends and I put on in helping raise $700.00 for the Maine Cancer and Kids of Maine program.

I was happy to present the check to the Cancer and kids on behalf of myself, my good friends Mackenzie, Tracy, Kaetlin, Tiffany and Monika and all of those who helped and donated their time.

I am sad to say that my Aunt Pat passed away this evening.

I just wanted to let you all know that my Aunt Pat passed away this evening with a short bout with cancer.

My family and I would like to thank all of you for your phone calls, e-mails, well wishings and prayers.

Never Forget 9-11

I always make it a point to post a remembrance to all of the fallen heroes and civilians we lost on 9-11.

My new studio location

I am now based in Falmouth, Maine on US Route 1 and the building number is 43.

The studio is right on the corner of the entrance to Mackworth Island which is where the school for the deaf is.

For the past week  between work and moving..I have been traveling to Farmington to visit my Aunt Pat who has cancer and has been placed in hospice care....It was a shock to me and my family when we found out the news..She was battling pneumonia over the past 3 weeks but we never imagined this...Her outlook on things have been very positive and she has been very strong but she knows that she will lose the battle soon and is very much at peace with this...If you have a moment...Any and all your prayers would be very much appreciated...My family and I thank you for your support.....I love you Aunt Pat.

Moving is no fun!!

So for the past week ( Sept. 1st to Sept. 7th )  I have been moving..Today was the final moving day and I must admit..It was no fun!!

Happy 4th of July to all of you and a Birthday tribute to my dad.

I would like to wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July.

July 4th is also my dads birthday. Unfortunately..This is the 1st year I will not be with him at least on this earth...My dad passed away this past Veteran's Day. I miss him very much and think of him all the time. I just wanted to wish him a happy birthday and provide him with a tribute in honer of his birthday...

My dad was a funny guy..Never a dull moment...He was a practical joker..Always putting a smile on somebodies face with the stories he would tell...He was like the movie BIG FISH...Tall tales that you never knew if he was telling the truth or making something up...If you haven't seen Big Fish yet..I highly suggest you see it..What a great movie!!

My dad was very Patriotic and loved the fact his Birthday was on the 4th of JULY...He always told me as a kid..The fireworks were for him in a way to celebrate his birthday..lol...My dad loved this country and served in the military when he got out of high school.

I would just like to wish my dad a happy birthday and let him know how much I miss him...I miss the laughs and talks after the Red Sox and Patriots games on how they played...

The name of my event is Models, Martinis & Mojitos.

This special event is a fund raiser which will be for the Maine Children's Cancer Program. We will not be charging an admission for this event but will be taking donations at the door. 100% of all money will go directly to the Children's Program and I can promise you that!!

Before you get to excited..I must tell you that this is a 21+ event and proper dress is required.

The event will begin at 7pm. The location is at Eggspectations out in South Portland. There will be alot of special guests attending that are involved in the Fashion industry throughout New England.

There will also be a fashion show featuring some of Maine's Top Models wearing some of the hottest fashions Maine has to offer. They will all be glammed out thanks to Cherry Pie for providing their hair and Make Up....They will be struttin' their stuff on the runway thanks to Maines Number 1 DJ....DJ JON !!...The fashion show will be announced by none other than our very own MISS MAINE USA 2008 Kaetlin Parent.

Some of the special guests and sponsors will be Pinnacle Vodka, Joseph's, Tommy Bahama Rum, Portland Style Magazine, Lucia's, Moda Bella, Cherry Pie, ModelingIQ.com, Port City Models, Utobia Models & Talent and more.......

Congrats to the Boston Celtics!! World Champs 2008!!

Tonight...I had to put on the green ( with  good old number "33" on the back and the last name "BIRD" and represent for the Boston Celtics up here in Portland,Maine.

My girlfriend and I went downtown to a popular sports bar call "The Stadium" where it was full to capacity as well as good energy!! From the first minute of the game..The crowd was into it!!..Every time the Lakers missed a shot the crowd went crazy...Every time the Celtics scored the place would go even more crazy!!

When the game ended..Hi Fives were all over the place being shared and smiles on faces. I loved watching Kevin Garnett get interviewed and the raw emotion he showed as well as that big smile Paul Peirce had...I am so happy for those guys and the rest of the team..

I would like to thank the 2008 BOSTON CELTICS for having such a great year and for making basketball exciting again for me to actually buy a ticket and go watch a game since 1995.

I will be judging this years Miss Boston 2008 Contest at Club Felt.

I cannot beleive that I will be shooting Rap Royalty "Slick Rick" tonight down at the Asylum in Portland, Maine..Slick Rick has always been one of my favorite rappers...My best friend and I used to drive around in his Ford Escort listening to "A Childrens Story"  and "The Show" over and over..

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there.

I would just like to say that i know it's hard being a parent..I do  not have children but I have had the pleasure of baby sitting my nieces quit often from ages 2 and up...I know being a parent is not easy and I appreciate all of the wonderful parents out there that are taking time out with their kids and teaching them right from wrongs. The children our the future and without good parenting skills some children will unfortunately fall through the cracks of life.

My mother "Gail Smith" unfortunately passed away from cancer back in April of 1993. I miss her dearly but know that she was and is a huge influence of my life every day...There is not a day that goes by when I don't think about her and how her warm smile would light up a room.

I am blessed to have so many wonderful women in my life that I would consider my adoptive mothers and value your love and friendships.

I became a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association.

I am proud to say that I finally became a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association today.

I was honored to speak in front of more than 30 other professionals about my business and my lighting techniques. Congrats to Barney Martin!!

I would like to congratulate my good friend Barney Martin who is one of Maine's best and funniest comedic actors for landing a speaking role in a television pilot based on characters that were created by Maine's premier Comedian Bob Marley!!

To Barney's credit you have seen him On camera in Maine for the past 8 years in commercials, industrials, Megabucks Golf Guy, Handyman tools, he’s in a feature film entitled “Liberty, Maine” and his national TV credit is a role in "Murder in Small Town X".

Thanks to both Bob and Barney for putting us Mainuhs on tha Map!!

It was a good run...I will no longer be the Portland Sea Dogs Team Photographer.

I knew the day would eventually come...I spoke with the management down at the Portland Sea Dogs office today and both parties agreed that it was time for me and them to go different directions.....I have no hard feelings about this and am actually excited to see what is in store for me this coming year...I have been the official team photographer since 1995...I have help raise over $5,000.00 dollars with autographed pictures I have had the players pose for and sign for me to donate to various causes....I have met many great people on and off the field down there...I will miss the Ushers, Grounds Crew, Season Ticket Holders  and Craig Senior and Craig Junior in the club house...It's going to be strange when the next time I am down there visiting....Being 12 years of history with the Se Dogs has had a huge impact on me and my life...When I went through my battle with Colan Cancer I asked to have a room at the hospital to look down at the ball park in hopes of making me stronger to get back down there...My goal was to get better and get right back down there in the dug out shooting again....I will never forget the big lump I had in my throat as I entered the ball park again coming in through the center field doors...My eyes filled with tears of happiness and my body got all warm and tingly inside as I could smell popcorn and heard the crack of the bats and music playing over the loud speaker.....

I am grateful that the Sea Dogs had me as their photographer as long as they did..I have alot of great memories being down at that ball park. I had alot of great opportunities through the Sea Dogs to do things I never would have been able to do such as shoot Spring Training with the Florida Marlins for 4 years, Shoot Boston Red Sox games, Meet former Red Sox that I admired as a kid, Meet Former president George Bush and know alot of todays stars and prospects.

It was great knowing that I had the number one baseball card set as in production and image wise in the minors for the past 5 years...This was actually told to me by the compnay that puts the card sets out for minor league baseball....It was always cool for me to see my work in Baseball America and Baseball weekly and even in the Red Sox year book.

We shot at the Peakes Island Bed And Breakfast and the popular club FELT in Boston.

Ella was the 2004 Maxim Hometown Hotties runner up in the finals. Ella has appeared in Maxim and is also an actress who will be in an upcoming movie with Ethan Hawke...

I will be Shooting the next exclusive feature for Maine's Style Magazine.

Today I met with the staff and Publisher of Maine's Style Magazine and am excited to announce that I will be shooting the next exclusive feature for them. They said that they are looking to head in a new direction as far as how the feature will be photographed and thought I would fit in just right.

I will keep you posted on when you can expect this next edition of Style to come out..It will be the spring edition.

The Good news and Bad news about Super Bowl Sunday.

First the Bad news...The Patriots lost to the Giants.

The good news...I raised $225.00 dollars at Thatcher's Restaurant in South Portland for the Maine Children's Cancer Program by raffling off a Jacoby Ellsbury and Jon Lester autographed 8x10!!...Thank you to all that bought tickets and thank you to the people at Thatchers for allowing me to continue one of my favorite things to do and that means alot to me.

What's been going on....

Well...It's been one heck of a month...I am feeling like I am slowly coming back and getting my head back on straight though..I apologize to many of you for not returning phone calls and e-mails promptly..I just had to focus on me and my family and I thank you all for your understanding and patience.

My Dads funeral information.

My dads funeral will take place at Meader and Son Funeral Home on 3 Franklin Street in Rumford, Maine at 11am on December 8th.

My dad passed away today and I will miss him dearly.

I'm not sure how many of you knew my dad or that he was sick...He was in stage 3 emphysema and his body was slowly starting to shut down...Today at 5:30 am...He passed away in his sleep..Although I am sad and will miss him greatly..I am also happy to know he went out with dignity and was comfortable. The nurse told my sister this morning how shocked the whole staff was to have found him this morning not breathing.. They all thought he was alright.. He was being checked on every hour on the hour.My family and I were actually making plans on spending Thanksgiving with him.

My dads name was William ( Bill ) Smith... Around town alot of people called him "SMITTY" ..I am quit sure many will always remember him as somebody who was always quick with a joke ( although most were not very funny ) and a warm hello..He loved to joke with people..Many never knew when to take him seriously..I don't know how many times we would go into his favorite restaurant and he would say something to the waitresses and they would always ask if he was serious or not..The same thing ended up happening at the South Paris Veterans home where he became a resident and the entertainment..I would go to visit him and he had the popular dorm room on campus so to speak.. There were always nurses in his room and you could hear them laughing down the corridor before entering his room....I would just like to say I have so much gratitude for all of the nursing staff at the South Paris Veterans Home for taking such great care of my dad...He was so happy there and thought the world of the nurses and staff.

My dad was a resident of the town of Rumford for 40 some odd years..He worked at the mill and then did other jobs as the years went on... After he retired he enjoyed hanging out downtown socializing with the residents of Rumford and shared stories with them... My dad was quit the outdoors-man and loved fishing ,Hunting and Golf..As a child I remember packing up the car with  a lunch box of sandwiches and chips and a  cooler of soda along with the fishing poles, tackle and worms or night crawlers we would find in our lawn with flashlights.

I guess the best way I will remember my dad is..His smile, his jokes and always wanting to put a smile on my face. I find it quit fitting that he passed away on Veteran Day since he was a Veteran and very Patriotic..His Birthday was actually on the 4th of July!!! He would always wear pins or hats having something to do with AMERICA..He was definitely proud to be an American!!

I would just like to thank all my family and friends for your phone calls and e-mails and support.. I would like to give a huge thank you to the staff at the South Paris Veterans home for making my dads stay there a wonderful experience for him as well as my family.Your smiles as we entered the facility always made us feel welcome and let us know my dad was in good hands..

Thank you to the town of Rumford for having to listen to my dads jokes over and over again and laughing just the same..lol..No really..Thank you for support and friendship as well.

I love you dad and I will miss you!!...I am glad you and mom are together again.

My fellow Photographer friends Arch Enemy's will be on TV this Thursday night at 11pm.

My friends from Augusta Arch Enemy's will be featured on the channel 13 news station at 11pm this coming Thursday night...They are photographers and also run a shop where they sell latex clothing and Stiletto Shoes.... I have been involved in a few projects with both Carrie and Nate and am glad to see the exposure they will get from this...I am not into the whole latex and stiletto scene but support them in their photography and business...Their style of photography is very unique and I can respect that...I wish them the very best and hope this exposure will help..

And the Sox go to the world series!!

I am so happy that the Boston Red Sox will be going onto the world series again this year!!...It has been a fun year watching the team do as well as they have done and finishing the year ahead of the Yankees!!!...As a Sox fan..That is always a plus!!..I have enjoyed watching the games with my friends Jess, Tommy and my girlfriend Lisa as well as different groups along the way..I would love to see the Sox win another trophy in my life time!! GO SOX!!

Miss Maine U.S.A. Teen and Miss Maine U.S.A. photo shoot.

Today I did a photoshoot for the Miss Maine Teen U.S.A./Miss Maine U.S.A. organization... The photo shoot was for the 2008 Miss Maine USA cover program and internet promotions. Erin Good is the current Miss Maine U.S.A.and Amanda Noel Pelletier is the current Miss Maine Teen title holders....Mackenzie Davis is the state director..The 2008 pageant will be held November 24th and 25th at the Sheraton in South Portland...For more information about the Miss U.S.A. Happy Birthday to my Mother

Although my mother is in the heavens above..I would still like to wish her a happy Birthday and tell her that I love her.

My good friend Sue Gaudet lost her life to cancer today.

Today I was saddened to have learned that my dear friend Sue Gaudet from Rumford lost her battle with cancer today...Sue taught me to keep my chin up and "just deal with it" when it came to things dealing with the hospital...My thoughts and prayers go out to her husband Will and family......SUE WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART AND A TRUE INSPIRATION TO ME!!

My portrait I did of Sue back in the summer of 2005.

Here is some of her story:

I  was originally diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcoma at the age of 26 in 1995. Ewing’s Sarcoma is a pediatric bone cancer rarely found in adults. I was also diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, which is a type of lymphoma. I was told that it was extremely rare for these two cancers to co-exist and I was most likely the only person on record with these two cancers. After several months of intense chemotherapy, radiation and a strong dose of positive attitude, I beat the cancer, despite the grim prognosis. It was at that time that I decided that life was too short to be doing anything other than what I loved -- music.

I joined a swing band called "Eight to the Bar" for a few years, then moved to Nashville, TN, where I met my future husband, Will Parker. Will and I started writing and recording songs together and we played music full-time as an acoustic duo, travelling the country in our RV. We've had 4 little dogs that we saved/rescued and life was good.

In December 2004 Will and I were married on the beach in Key West, Florida and a few short weeks later I had a recurrence of the Ewing's Sarcoma. I have been fighting it ever since. I have had extensive chemotherapy, radiation and surgery. The disease is invading my spinal canal and causing tremendous nerve pain. The oncologists at Dana Farber Cancer Institute and Tennessee Oncology are not offering me any treatment options at this time, as I have had the maximum dosages of radiation and certain kinds of chemotherapy. My low platelet count prevents me from being accepted into clinical trials.

Thanks to my brother Matt's friend Heidi Olsen, the Issels treatment center became part of my life. Issels is an alternative treatment center for cancer patients. They have 2 clinics in the U.S.; however, a few of their treatments are not yet FDA approved, so they do their "full" protocol at the Oasis of Hope hospital in Mexico. I started my treatment on January 30, 2007 and was discharged on February 27, 2007. I am currently into the 6 month at-home treatment. I am continuing to journal daily, so please refer to my journal for specific information regarding my treatment at the Issels Center, as well as the follow up protocol. Red Sox Sweep the Angels!!!!

Although I had a photo shoot today and missed the entire game..I do know one thing...I know that Curt Shilling and the Red Sox swept the Angels and that's all that matters to me...I am hoping the Yankess lose and we face the Indians this coming Friday night.

I did a photo shoot for Port City Life Magazine today.

Attention all Hockey Fans...Today I did a photo shoot for Port City Life Magazine..It involved the Portland Pirates, Anaheim Might Ducks and the Stanley Cup..... I will keep you all posted when the article comes out...As you can see..There is a picture of me and the Stanley Cup below...Please read the story below this picture if you want to know a little history about he cup.

The Stanley Cup (French: La Coupe Stanley), awarded annually to the National Hockey League (NHL) champion, is the most coveted ice hockey club championship trophy in the world. Commonly referred to as "The Cup", "The Holy Grail", or facetiously (chiefly by sportswriters) as "Lord Stanley's Mug",^[1]. The Stanley Cup is surrounded by numerous legends and superstitions. Unlike the trophies awarded by the other three major professional sports leagues of North America, a new Stanley Cup is not made each year; unless the Cup winners repeat as champions in the following season, they only keep it until the new champion is crowned. It is also the only trophy in professional sports that has the name of the winning players, coaches, management, and club staff engraved on it.

BOSTON, Oct. 5 -- The Fenway Park crowd realized it was not going to get its towering, game-winning homer from David Ortiz, whose shoulders slumped with everyone else's in the old stadium when the catcher stuck his glove out for the intentional walk. But it could settle for one from Manny Ramirez, and the chant of "Man-ny! Man-ny" started going up from the stands near the Boston Red Sox' dugout even before balls three and four had reached the catcher, sending Ortiz to first base.

It was the bottom of the ninth inning, more than four hours into Game 2 of the American League Division Series, and several hours later, a pair of chartered jet planes would sail into the sky for the cross-country flight to Southern California, toward Game 3. And if anyone onboard were to catch a glimpse of a fleeting object on the distant horizon of the stratosphere, it might be the ball Ramirez launched into the sky.

On the second pitch he saw from Los Angeles Angels closer Francisco Rodriguez, Ramirez absolutely crushed one. The ball sailed over the Green Monster, over the seats that top the iconic wall, over a billboard, a light stanchion, a parking lot and heaven knows what else. The three-run home run gave the Red Sox a 6-3 victory, and sent Ramirez's teammates hurtling out of their dugout to greet him in a teeming scrum at home plate.

Cure for Cancer Benefit concert and auction.

I will be going to the upcoming Cure for Cancer Benefit Concert and Auction Party this coming Saturday October 6th at 35 Blake Rd. at the Memory Lane Dance Hall in Standish....I will be donating  Jon Lester and Julian Tavarez  autographed 8x10's for the cause.....Another great thing is there will be alot more auction items  as well as New England Patriot ticket give aways.....The boys from Riot Act will be bringing the house down as they always do!!!! Sould be a great night and I hope to see you there....

Colonoscopy Results.....

Today was a very good day....I had my third colonoscopy today since battling colon cancer back in 2003...The results were GREAT!!

Doctor Potter gave me an A+ and told me to keep up the good work.....This wonderful event took place at the Portland Gastroenterology building on 1200 Congress St. in Portland.....I was anxious to post this today!!...I know some of you have been following my updates and posts over the past 4 years with encouragement and love.....I cannot thank you all enough for the strength you have given me to live the life that I am living.....Every day is a good day for me..I have not lost that spirit and feeling of being blessed to be here doing what I do and for all of the wonderful people that come in and out of my life.....It really means alot to me when I see somebody and they ask me how things are going "health-wise".....I think for some reason that having colon cancer at my age made me a sounding board for others and I welcome that with open arms.....If you have bed sweats, if you are tired all the time, feeling weak, not hungry and losing weight, side cramps, not digesting food properly or get dizzy easily....I suggest that you go see a doctor and possibly get checked out...If cancer runs in your family..A colonoscopy may be a good thing to look into....It saved my life and it could save yours.

Introducing the cast of MAINE MODEL 3

Here is the cast of Maine Model 3 which will begin taping sometime next week and ready to go by late October/Early November on Maine's WPXT 51/CW...I will be returning for the third time as the photographer on the show along with television personality John Marshall...This year seems to have more steam behind it...There will be better prizes and better competitions....I can't give to much away but will say that the grand prize will be more than just getting a portfolio and having Tyra Banks and her people review the winners book for consideration for the America's Top Model Show...I'm even excited for the winner!!!...I will keep you all posted on dates and times when the show airs.....

I have been crazy busy over the past 3 weeks...Everyone wants to shoot now that there has been mention of the temp hitting the 40's...Ugh...Anyways..I have been pretty much on the go shooting all day and doing alot of late night administrative work which has left me with not a whole lot of time to work on my site and make some updates.....

I am hoping to make at least 25 new updates by this coming Saturday...lease stop by again soon as I will make a post and let you all know what I have done as far as new content goes....

My spiritual night with Stevie Wonder.

I really don't know how or where to start..I know this isn't really photography related but I had an experience that I just wanted to share with the whole world.....It's a long story so go get a cup of coffee and come back to read about the experience I just had last night(9/20/07)......

I  guess I need to fill everybody in on a few things first...I lost my mother who battled cancer back in 2003.........I think of her on a daily basis and do everything I can to make her proud of me....We were very close and she was everything to me...When I was a kid..I used to sit on the floor sorting out baseball cards while she cleaned up the house on the weekends...She would turn the record player on and play Dianna Ross, Dionne Warwick and Stevie Wonder...Her all time favorite song which she said was the most beautiful song ever was Stevie Wonder's "My Cherie Amour"....She used to sing it often and always smile when it was on the radio.....I remember it so distinctly...Soooooo anyways.....I have always enjoyed Stevie Wonder and always think of my mom when I hear his music...Especially My Cherie Amour....Well...I would say back in 2002...It was April and I was really missing my mother...It was right around the anniversary of her passing and I was very melancholy.....I went to bed and had the most vivid dream i have ever had in my life.....I dreamt that I was looking out this big picture window..It was a nice day but suddenly...The room I was in became all bronze from the glow of that sweet light you get around 7 or so when the sun just begins to set...The light was so warm....I felt something in the room and looked over to my right hand side...It was my mother...It was like she floated right up beside me...She looked beautiful the way the warm sunlight struck her face...She smiled at me as if to let me know everything was alright...We didn't verbally speak...We communicated telepathically..I told her how much I loved her and how I missed her...She said she knew and was alright and not for me to worry.....I could feel the golf ball sized lump in my throat getting even bigger.....She then asked me how my sister and my nieces were..I told her that they were fine...She then smiled and slowly floated backward as I continued to look forward out the window....The room then grew dim and she was gone......

I woke up sobbing...I was married at the time and I woke my wife up with the noise I was making...She asked me what was wrong and I told her I was fine...My mother came to visit me.......The dream I had was like in High Definition.....Everything was so sharp and crisp.....Very vivid.....Since then....I have not had another visit like that from my mother.....So....Let's go fast forward......I am friends with the guys up at the WRED 95.9 radio station....I saw that Stevie Wonder was coming to Boston and felt inside that I had to go..I had to go see him....I quickly called my friend and DJ Buzz Bradley up at the station....I asked him if there was anyway he could hook me up with tickets....I told him how much it meant to me that I go......A few weeks later I got the cal from Buzz saying I was all set...I could not thank him enough.....I immediately called my girlfriend Lisa and told her the great news that we were going to see Stevie Wonder.....She knew how important it was for me as well as my sister....So September 20th finally comes and I am on my way to see the concert....Lisa and I get there and we are so excited...You could feel alot of positive vibes in the air as well...It was a beautiful night...Perfect actually.....So the concert starts...Stevie comes out on stage and starts thanking everyone for coming...He introduces us to his daughter ( Aisha I think was her name )  who is a back up singer..She was beautiful and has an amazing voice....He tells a few stories and then starts talking about how he lost his mother this past year and how rough it has been for him....As he told the story....I could feel that lump in my throat swelling...My eyes started swelling too....He went on to tell everyone that he misses his mother and that he received a phone call on night...His assistant handed him the phone and Stevie said he didn't want to talk...His assistant says that he needs to answer the phone...Stevie once again says no...He was tired and didn't want to talk to anyone...The third time the assistant said he had to take the call..Stevie took it...On the other end of the phone he said he heard his mothers voice..."How could this be" he asked himself...He then said "mom....Are you O.K.??"....The voice said..."Yes son..I am fine"...Stevie then asked..."Where are you??"...The voice said.." I am alright...Don't worry about me...."Stevie asked..." Where are you mom?? I want to be where you are"....Then he woke up....Stevie had a dream about his mother just like me....I couldn't hold back the tears after hearing this amazing story....I could not believe my ears as he continued talking....My emotions were already on screech and that story did me in...My girlfriend held me tight and wiped the tears from my eyes and smiled...She knew that I could relate and it was almost as if Stevie Wonder knew I was in the crowd and started talking with me.....It was amazing!!! He then sang overjoyed which was so beautiful...His voice is flawless and the way he carries himself deserves respect...He poured his heart and soul out to everyone there...It was when he sang one of my personal favorites "Lately"  really set the water works off...He sang the first verse and then broke down in tears...He obviously misses his mother and that song had to have been agonizing for him to perform....His daughter came over to him and wiped the tears out of his eyes and hugged him as the band continued to play......I of course was a basket case at this point...Tears were just streaming down my face...I couldn't hold them back even if I wanted to........ I knew that I shared the same feeling and experienced the same emotions that he was feeling....Throughout the whole show...I could feel my mothers presence...It was very strong and warm......I have never been emotional at a concert in my life...Not even close....I know for a fact...I will never see or experience another show like this one again in my life.....It was like a religious experience of sorts......I felt the need to share this story with who ever will read it....I have never had a feeling like the one I had leaving the venue......I guess my thoughts are as follows....If you have a loved one that has passed away..They will always be with you in one way, shape or form..You just have to believe!!....As you can tell..I am not afraid to show my emotions....I have gone through alot in my life and have decided that it is more healthy for me to be that way than to hold things in....I love life and after going to see Stevie Wonder...I feel that much more complete......Thank you for reading this....I had to share it.....So thanks again to Buzz and Lisa....And to Stevie Wonder!! You are an amazing performer and person!!!

Never forget 9/11

Today is a day to reflect on all the innocent people that lost their lives and also the people that saved them.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who were affected by the tradgedy that took place on that day....I will never forget!!

Model Fest 2007 R-O-C-K-E-D!!

I hope everyone that made it to Model Fest 2007 had a great time and didn't go home disappointed....The weather hung on for the most part...A little drizzle here and there...The over cast skies really made it easy for all of us to shoot....I would like to thank all the models for coming as well as the photographers..Many of you traveled a great length to be with us and that is greatly appreciated!!

I would like to give a special shout out to my good friends from Arch Enemy's who are based out of Augusta..I am happy to have teamed up with you guys to have made this event possible!! Your hard work promoting and dedication spoke volumes!!! I look forward to next years event!!

Last Nights Sean Kingston Show....

I would just like to say that the Sean Kingston show that was put on by FLOP HOUSE RECORDS was off the hook.....Rap phenom Affiliate open the show and rocked the place...Sean Kingston came out and did his thing and later met some of his fans...It was a great show!!

The go go dancers were awesome and the crowd was awesome too...I met alot of great people up there in Orono!!

Model Fest 2007

Hello to you all...

I am happy to announce that I will be teaming up with my Friends from Arch Enemys for a summers end modeling event .

The event is titled Model Fest 2007.

When: September 9th at 10am until we are done.

Where: Fort Williams in Cape Elizabeth Maine.

Last year..Thomas Hopkins held his annual Models and Photographers BBQ and we just wanted to carry on the tradition since Tom has since moved out of state....Both photographers and models will be getting together to meet one another and share experiences and knowledge. We will also be doing photo shoots...

Here is a quick summery of important things to know.

1. you must be 18+ to be apart of this event.

2. You must pay $20.00 to help us cover food and material costs...No exceptions. I am sorry to say..If you do not pay..You will not be allowed to participate. Since space is limited..If you show up the day of this event and we are at our limit..You will be asked to leave.

3. Since we are at a public park..We must respect the visitors.....Do not bring thongs or skimpy outfits..Especially if they are see through...I have told the Park manager that we will all be professional....If we get any type of complaints..He told me he will shut us down.

4. Be aware that there may be children around...Please keep your language rated PG.

5. Keep in mind that if you do not act professional..You will not be asked to attend next years event.

6. Be on time!!!!!!

For the 6th year in a row.....!!!!

The people from grandstand cards let me now that I shot one of the best baseball card sets in the minor leagues for this year!!

It is always a nice call or e-mail to receive from Len at Grandstand cards..They are the company that produces the Portland Sea Dogs team set that I have shot for over the past 10 years...

Len congratulated me for putting out yet another outstanding baseball card set that they were impressed with!! He said it's right up there in all of the minor leagues!!...I just had to share that news with somebody...You can go to the Sea Dogs web site and order a set or go to the ball park and buy one...I hope you enjoy it too!!

So what happened at the Best of The Best 3 contest in Atlanta you ask??

Well....I go out to Atlanta to find out if I won the Best of the Best 3 reality show after making it into the top ten...The answer was no..I did not win...Oh well..I am happy with the images I took while competing in Nevada...The models were great and I met some really cool fellow photographers....I am definately puzzled though for what exactly the judges were looking for.....I know alot of contestants are wondering the same too but I don't want to sound like a poor sport...It was definately an experience and actaully makes me want to hold my own photoshoot contest with photographers and models competing for prizes up here in New England...I will keep you posted if anything transpires.

Looks like the Sea Dogs will have to wait a while...

This snow is not to good for playing baseball in....The Portland Sea Dogs were supposed to start their season today at 6pm and receive their championship rings but will have to wait...I think there has to be at least a foot of snow out there!! UGH!!

Could somebody please send us some nice weather???!!

I'm Back from Nevada and in the top ten!!

I returned back from Nevada this past Friday Morning at 3am after competing for 3 days on a reality tv show called "BEST OF THE BEST" which will air on the Maverick tv network in June....

I am proud to say that I was the only contestant representing New England and came back in the Top Ten!!

The next step for me now is to go to Atlanta in June for the final taping and the premier party in which they will air the first show and also announce the winning photographer and model.

To sum it up short and sweet..I competed against 20 other photographers photographing models..After 2 days of shooting..We had to turn in our 2 best images of each model and then get judged for them to pick out the top ten in each group..Ten Models and Ten Photographers.

Thank you all for your wonderful support and e-mails of encouragement!! It really helped me!! I will keep you all posted on what's next.

I will be competing on a Reality Show in Las Vegas this coming week....

That's right people...Yours truly will be competing on a reality show called BEST OF THE BEST from March 26 to March 30th out in Las Vegas...The premise of the show is somewhat like America's Top Model....There will be 20 photographers ( me being one of them ) competing against each other in different competitions...

Best of the Best 3 is a reality-based "behind-the-scenes" modeling competition on MavTV! Watch 20 beautiful models and 20 photographers shoot in exciting locations all over Las Vegas! Models and Photographers will battle for a $10,000 grand prize and a chance to be named THE BEST OF THE BEST.

The photographers that are chosen for the TOP 10 will go out to Atlanta in June to be awarded!!!....On that note...WISH ME LUCK!!

The Boston Red Sox Good Will Tour hits Portland, Maine.

I just photographed The Boston Red Sox Holiday Goodwill Tour visited the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital in Portland, Maine to spread the warmth and cheer of the holiday season to Red Sox Nation. It was very touching to watch the kids and players interact together!! Very Classy!!!

I will be going to Boston on June 3rd to represent Maine at the New England Emmys...That's right!!! The Maine model tv show that I'm on has been nominated for a New England Emmy!! A Tribute to my mother Gail.

I would like to pay a Tribute to my mother GAIL who I lost to cancer back in 1992. She was the most beautiful and loving woman I have ever known.I miss her in the worst way. Happy mothers day.

Coors is sponsoring this event...Coors and Maxim will be looking for a spokesmodel and calendar girl...The pictures I will be taking of you will get voted on by three judges. Each girl that wins each event will then be driven down to Boston via limo on Feb. 6th and will be meeting Coors and Maxim reps at the Avalon at a preliminary party!!!!!!! As far as the Hometown hottie contest is concerned..I will enter your info and pictures to Maxim personally for you in hopes that you will also be considered for the Hometown Hottie contest!! So..The deal is...This is like a two for one deal!!!

Hawaiian Tropic Model Search Info!!

 I am here to announce that Bourbon Street Nightclub at the Pavilion will be hosting the state of Maine Hawaiian Tropic model search for 4 weeks starting saturday july 16th 9pm . Contestants may register by calling 207-773-6422 or emailing thepavilion.com -there will be no walkins! Top 3 from each weekly event will compete at the finals in august for the grand prize trip to hawaii (air and hotel) to compete in the national finals. Weekly 1st prize is a 3 day /2 night trip(air and hotel) to a  destination such as mexico,jamaica,aruba. The weekly event will consist of a swimsuit competition  (no thongs) run pageant style. Judging will be on stage presence, swimsuit and ability to answer a question. All contestants will receive haw. tropic product packages.

What a great weekend

This past Friday (6-3-05 ) I walked in the relay for life for the second year in a row. I walked from 6pm (Friday evening) until 5am (Saturday morning) for a total of 20 miles!! I would like to thank all of those who helped support me by your kind donations and phone calls and e-mails!! I raised over $600.00. I would like to thank Kevin and Ashley for being great company!!

I was also able to catch a Red Sox game this past Sunday ( 6-5-05 ) against the Angels...We won!! I had a great weekend!

I lost my mother 12 years ago to cancer..Time to reflect...

Today is a day I reflect and look back 12 years ago at the day I lost my mother Gail Smith to cancer....I think about her every day!! It is because of her I strive to do my best every day,be the best person I can be every day and try to bring happiness to others every day...It is also because of her and what I have gone through with my own health ( colan cancer ) that I am always trying to raise money and awareness for cancer research. Brian Black signs WWE contract!! Congratulations!!

I would just like to congratulate my friend and client who's wrestling name is Brian Black on his recent signing by the WWE to their developmental system. I just photographed the latest cd cover for Maine's favorite band PSC.

Today was a fun day.... I just shot Maine's very own funk-punk-soul and ska band the Paraniod Social Club !! These guys are extremely talented and know how to Rock out!! They told me they know how to rock and I beleive them!! I will be checking out one of their upcoming shows this coming Friday March 4th at the BIG EASY in downtown Portland...I have just been informed by their promoter Scott to show up before 10:00pm or thier is a chance you won't get in!! I shot their latest cd cover which will be cool to see all over the country since the band just signed with an indy lable ON entertainment out of New York....Check out The Paranoid Social Club's website for more information....I am glad Scott and the band knew who to call to get the best pictures in town!!!And for that I say Thank you!!

Something I am proud of!!

I am proud to say that over this past week I have helped raise $965.00 for the Maine's Children's Cancer and Kid's Program!!

I would love to thank Gladys who is the owner of Bleachers Sports bar on Forest Ave. and also Cindy who is the owner of Thatcher's Restaurant and Pub on Foden Rd. in South Portland who helped make this possible.

Each Restaurant allowed me to raffle off a fully signed New England Patriots Cheerleaders 2005-2006 Swimsuit Calendar that I shot and had the girls sign for events like these..

Between the 2 Restaurants we all raised a total of $540.00 which was awesome!!!!

Then on Feb. 2nd and Feb. 4th I gave 2) Patriots Signed Swimsuit Calendars, 2) Kevin Youkillis 8x10's 1) AJ Burnett 8x10 and 1) Josh Beckett autographed 8x10 prints for another auction that raised a total of $425.00 for the Maine Children's Cancer and Kids program!!! Those lovely events were held at Dimillo's and the Black Point Inn which did a great job with the incredible catering!! I ate alot!! ha-ha

Over all....The total money raised came up to $965.00 !! I am proud and overjoyed about this!!

I just got back from watching the Patriot's beat the Bengals down in Foxboro...I went to the game with my brother in law and some people he does business with...We had a great time!!We had great seats!! Right on the Patriots 40 yard line..I didn't go to this game to photograph it..I went for fun!!!

I have another image in the January issue of FHM magazine..The image is of one of the New England Patriots Cheerleaders..Her name is Amber Van Eegan...She was awesome to work with!! She is a hottie too!! You can see this image in the January issue of FHM

I was psyched to see it !! This makes my second image published in this magazine!! The only bummer was...They gave the wrong guy the credit!!I don't know how that happened??!! The guy they credited was the guy who did the printing of the calendar..His name is Greg Presley...

I was happy to see my hometown paper The Rumford Falls Times article they did on my this past week as I went home for Thanksgiving...Writer and Photographer Bruce Farrin did a great job on his write up!! I actually made the front page and page three...The story he did on me was about me shooting the 2005 New England Patriot Cheerleader Calendar,me battling colon cancer and how I got started doing photography...I am sure there will be some people from home who will be freaked out about the photo they put on the front as it shows me shooting 4 of the girls in swim suits...I am sure there will be some stuffy person up there complaining about how they can't believe they showed some half naked women in such a prestigious newspaper...It will be interesting to see what the response is...I know when I went home everyone congratulated me on how things have been going...It was nice seeing everyone and I am very thankful for my hometowns support!!

The latest Health News on me and my colon...It's all good!!!

Today I had my 1 1/2 year follow up Colonoscopy and got the results with in 10 minutes after it took place....The news is exactly what I was hoping to hear.....The doctor said everything looked great and he told me how happy he was to see how well I was doing....1 1/2 years ago today I was in the hospital after having my colon cancer removed..All the doctors and nurses couldn't believe that I was only 34 and going through such an operation..They all said I was so young and shouldn't have to have dealt with this until I was much older...I had my CAT scan this past August and they said I was clean as a whistle too!!! I AM SO HAPPY ABOUT ALL THIS NEWS!! I just thought I would like to share this news with all of you!!

New England Patriot Cheerleader photoshoot update

Well it happened..The calendar shoot is on!! I have been working with and photographing the Super Bowl Champs New England Patriot cheerleaders squad for the past 4 days!! It has been a great time!! I can't wait for this calendar to come out!! The girls have been great to work with as well as everyone else!! It has been a great experience!! We have been shooting through out all of New England...Cape Cod and Newport RI is so beautiful!! I will keep you all posted as this shoot gets wrapped up...Thanks to everyone for their help and hard work that was on set with me...Thanks to the make up artists for doing such a great job on the girls...And of course thanks to all the girls for being so much fun to work with!! There are some special people I need to thank individually by name...Thank you to Tracy,Matt,Devon and Jon ( the camera guy ),Tim and his wife for their hospitality in the Cape,my boy Rocky ( this guy looks just like Emmit Smith ) for showing us around at the Cape and Pat for being a great guy who drove the girls all over the place. Thank you to the park rangers and workers at Beaver Tail State Park for letting us do what ever we needed to do...

Relay for life news

Well we did it!!! My friends,family,wife and I did the relay for life this past weekend at the Falmouth Middle School....We walked around that track from 6pm to 12 noon the next day!!!

The best part of everything was when it was announced that they beat their goal as far as how much money they raised...

I can't wait until next year to do it again...

I would like to thank everyone that supported me and sponsored me for this event!!! I walked for a total of 18 miles...I only had 2 1/2 hours of sleep and was I tired!! ha-ha

1 year ago today and other news...

I can't believe it was a year ago today that I was in the hospital having my operation.. How time has flown by...My life has changed quit a bit since then..I am now going to the gym ( lifestyles ),have a personal trainer ( Jill Cyr ),eating vegetables,doing the relay for life June 4th and 5th and competed in a 1 mile road race ( I did a mile in 8minutes and 34 seconds )...I would once again for the 50th time like to thank my wife Lynn,my family,friends,all the wonderful and talented doctors that worked on me as well as the greatest nursing staff at MAINE MED. !!! I am still thankful every day for what I have!! I am thankful to all of you that visit my website that sign my guestbook with such kind words about my work and supporting me with my health...Thank you!! I hope they find a cure for cancer soon!! To all my fellow cancer survivors I say good luck,keep your chin up and stay strong!!!

I just thought you all might want to know the latest and greatest health news on yours truely....I just had a CAT scan this past Wednesday 4/21/04 and received the results that I am clean as a whistle !!!! I couldnt be more happy to have heard the news !! I would like to thank you all again for your love and support through this crazy roller coaster ride I have had this past year. I have been extremely busy down at the Seadogs ball park this past week shooting for the baseball card set...It has been nice seeing all my friends and players down there...It's like one big family..I just wish the team would start winning.. Way to Go Beth Swenson !! Maxim Finalist !!

I would just like to congratulate One of my favorite models and best friends Beth Swenson ( who also is my make up artist ) on becoming one of Maxim Magazines 10 finalists in the Hometown Hottie contest. I would also like to say that last week I had 5 girls that I photographed listed in the contest. I was hoping they all could have won !! There will be other contests. Back From Florida !!

I just got back From Florida....The weather was fantastic !! The models were even better!!! I Photographed Jennifer Torrant for FHM Magazine and the pictures are HOT!! I also photographed up and coming Swimsuit/Glamour model CG GIBSON along with National Fitness Jimmy Thomas in Tampa...I can't wait to post those photo's!! I had the opportunity to once again photograph Playboys Sexy Girl next door Jasmine Melatti along with fashion model GG,KATHY from Kathyontheweb.com, Maxim hometown hottie finalist Beth Swenson, up and coming model Lyn Ruelo.. March 18th was my last chemo treatment !!!

Just letting you all know that I am slowly seeing the light at the end of this long tunnel I have had the opportunity to travel. This is not a tunnel I chose but I would not trade what has happened to me for anything. I learned alot from this experience and am going to try my hardest to make an impact on peoples lives who have delt with cancer and who are about to go through it. I have alot of work to do.

I figured I would make a quick post updating you all on the latest news of my health. I have two chemo treatments left. My last treatment is on March 18th.I feel great and look forward to a cancer free life. I would like to thank all the wonderful nurses and Dr. Ervin from Scarborough's cancer center. You guys have been wonderful and made my treatments a smooth experience.I still have not forgotten all the wonderful nurses and doctors from Maine Med. You guys got me through one of the hardest times I have ever gone through in my life!! I will have to stop up to the LL BEAN wing and drop off some more Sea Dog Tickets.

Happy New Year Everyboby!!!

I would just like to wish you all a Happy New Year!! After everything that has happened to me this past year I can't embrace the New Year any stronger..Although last year was a scary year for me, my friends and family I wouldn't change a thing..I am using what happened as strength..I see a new lease on life and realize how important things are that were not so important in the past...I am living a more quality lifestyle these days..Enjoying my friends and family more,living life to the fullest,listening to jazz and all the beautiful music there is out there ( even birds chirping is beautiful to me. ),really paying attention to what life has to offer me and not spinning my wheels not going anywhere....I know I have said this in a few other posts and I will say it again..I am thankful for everyday I wake up,My wife,my family and my dearest friends...Nothing is greater than what I have now!! Thank you to all of you who I don't know or have never met that sent me e-mails and well wishings and support during my sickness...I am still cancer free and have two months left of Chemo treatments..I feel strong and alive!! I can't wait for the treatments to end in March!!! Once again..Thank you all!!

The Rebirth of Stewart....

I thought the title was a good one...The rebirth Of " Stew "....Since the big operation in June my style and perspective of life and photography has changed in the biggest way..First and foremost I appreciate my friends and family more than ever!! My style has changed alot too...My eyes see differently than before...I can't quite explain it but it is a good thing...Take a look through my website and see what I mean..I have also had the privilege to work with some great new models and a great make up artist " Beth Swenson " who brings more to the table when working with the models.... Beth's personality relaxes and excites the models and prepares them for the photo shoot which helps...You can ask any model I have recently photographed and they will tell you on how much fun they had during our shoot...The results weren't to bad either :) I will be constantly updating my site for the next month so keep coming back and have fun!!

I am thankful..

I felt like posting a little something I consider personal to me today..I am thankful...I am thankful once or twice a day..I never used to be this way until getting Colon Cancer...I used to take things for granted and always thought things will be there tomorrow...Things might be there tomorrow but will I? After spending time in a hospital wondering when or if I will ever be alright to work again it made me realize how lucky we all are...I am thankful to have friends, family and customers like all of you!! I always want people to know I feel that way!!! I am not afraid to express myself these days and I guess today was a good day to say thank you to all of you that have supported me over such a trying time in my life....My wife has been an angel and has been by my side through it all!! I can't thank her enough!!
The sun is shining, the Red sox are in the playoffs and I am just as busy as ever working with some great people!! It doesn't get much better than that!!! I am feeling great and am on my second cycle of Chemo treatments..The nurses at the cancer center have been great!! I am cancer free and loving life!!! What are you thankful for?? Take a minute and think about it....

I could not believe the news I received today!!! I would first like to congratulate Maine Model Jennifer Torant that I discovered a few months ago for being next months (Oct.) CAT SCAN AND 1st chemo treatment update

Just a quick update for those who have asked me to let you know the results of my latest doctors appointment.

My first two weddings and thanks.

I just photographed my first two weddings since being out of the hospital. I would like to thank Mrs. and Mr. Scott Sullivan and their families as well as Mrs. and Mr. Casey O'Donnell and their families for their wonderful support and understanding with me while working with them over the past week end.

Camp Sunshine

I have been doing some work over the past few days with Camp Sunshine http://www.campsunshine.org in Casco...It is a camp for sick children and their families..It is based all on volunteer work and lots of love...
