It was a fun season...

I'm bummed out that the Boston Celtics lost tonight in Game 7 of the playoffs against the Orlando Magic....I had a great time watching their games with my friends as well as going back and forth to Boston to watch them live as well...I am hoping next year will be a different story...We had a few guys banged up and the rest if the team seemed exhausted...Oh well...Maybe next year!!

I have been 5 years in remission from colon cancer!!

I would just like to share the great news with everyone that I am officially 5 years in remission from Colon Cancer!!...I can't believe how quick time has gone by!!...I would just like to thank you all for your love and support over the years!!

I went to a Celtics game a few months ago and always tape the jumbotron...During a time out..They played Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer and all of a sudden this kid went nuts...I laugh through the whole thing...So my friend Tommy tells me I should post it on youtube so he can show his friends...So I did and now it has gone global/viral and is getting 2000 hits a day or even more!!

Runway Fashion Show benefit for "Cling" this coming Sunday Feb. 15th..I will be there popping off some pics and socializing for a great cause.

My Valentine Fashion Show' which will be held at Eggspectations in South Portland, Maine on February 15, 2009 at 8pm.

The show will be put on by a newly founded non-profit organization called Cling. Cling was created in memory of Heidi Shultz, whom passed away in 2006 from cancer. Heidi shared many visions and had a legacy to change the world. One of the ways Cling is taken on her vision and legacy is by helping raise money for children's needs and health services in developing countries, as well as hospitals in the US. 

The fashion show will be featuring Bless by Bless Couture, a well-known clothing line out of Boston, MA, as well dress wear from David's Bridal and Models will be both former and current Miss USA contestants, as well as professional models from New York City and Boston. Volunteers will also be helping out with the fashion show, backstage as well as on runway.

The night will be filled with music by one of Maine's best club dj's DJ HUZZ, fashion, and drinks. Stewart Smith, an award-winning photographer from Portland, will be photographing the evening. There will be an auction and 50/50 with all proceeds going to support Cling's mission.

Tickets can be purchased for 10 dollars at the door at 7pm.

I will be photographing the VH-1 Reality Stars from Real Chance at Love "The Stallionares"

AUBURN - The Stallionaires of the No. 1 "Real Chance at Love" reality franchise on VH1, will appear Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Lavish Nightclub & Bar, 34 Court St. in Auburn, Maine.

I am happy to announce that I was recently interviewed by one of Maine's favorite and respected TV/News personalities Bill Green of "Bill Green's Maine."

Bill Green's Maine airs Saturdays at 7:00pm and has become the most-watched show in its time period.

I will be a feature on this show on January 17th at 7pm on WCSH 6.

Bil asked me a bunch of questions and also hung around while his crew taped me doing a photo shoot of this years Miss Maine USA 2009 Ashley Underwood who was a standout women's basketball player at UMO .

Mark Teixeira and the New York Yankees...

Photography is my life but the Boston Red Sox and my dislike for the Yakkes are a big part of it as well and here is a side of me that just my closest friends only see that I want to share with all of you...I cannot stand  Mark Teixeira  and the New York Yankees.

I am and always have been a huge Red Sox fan since the age of 8 years old....Yes I have been disappointed many times but must say this past decade has been pretty sweet...I was satisfied with one world series never thinking of seeing the boys win two with in such a short period of time of each other..

So anyways...I don't care who the hell the Yankees get...Yes they are picking up some big names but it doesn't mean the Red Sox have no shot in hell now...I think Mark Teixeira is not the answer to help the Yankees make it back to a world series spot for 2009....I am sick of these ball players and their agents trying to see how much money they can get out of a team....I still think the Boston Red Sox have a great team, they all get along and have great chemistry and nobody on the Sox is just about themselves like what the Yankees have like your A-RODS of the world.....Now the Yankees have 4 or 5 A-Rods....Good luck New York......I still think the Yankees suck and hope this deal they just made comes back to bite them in their asses!!...

Paying my respects to my good friend Ed Szalajeski.

I fight back the tears as I write this...The lump in my throat must be the size of a golf ball...I found out earlier this evening that a fellow professional photographer and professional good person and good friend of mine Ed Szalajeski lost his life to complications from a heart surgery that took place on Wednesday, November 12th...Ed passed away at 9pm on Thursday November 13th as I found out earlier this evening from a call made by his wife.

The photo of the two of us was just taken last Saturday at Scarborough Downes by my girlfriend Lisa... I am so glad she just randomly took her little camera out and snapped it... I believe this may be the only picture of the two of us ever taken.. Ed was one of the Track photographers and always came over to say hello to Lisa and I with a  big smile on his face and advice on who to bet on.

Ed was one of the nicest guys I knew..Always happy-go-lucky with an upbeat attitude like no other...From day one when we met..We were always good friends...One day Ed came up to me with a not to happy expression..I asked him what was wrong and he told me some jerk broke into his car and stole his camera gear...He later said to me he wished the thief all the best of luck and hope the thief enjoyed taking pictures with his stolen gear and smiled, shrugged his shoulders and said "whatcha gonna do"... Life goes on....That said alot about the type of person he was...Ed loved his wife and son and was always talking about some nice images he just took of his son and his dad at an apple orchard...to see the image...click here.

I will miss the hell outta the big guy!! He left us way to soon!! It will never be the same at the track not seeing him shooting the horses coming in across the finish line or playing fantasy baseball with him..His team name was the Evil Homers and we laughed on how he knocked me out of this years playoffs... I told him..I'm gonna get you next year!! Sadly...That will not happen...

Ed was the type of guy who would do anything for you and never ask for anything in return...He always looked at the brighter side of things.... Always put a smile on your face.... Always gave you his complete attention when in conversation... He was one of the most genuine people I have ever met and I wish I knew more people like him.....

I am not sure when Eds funeral will be but I will keep you posted..... I would like to Thank you for your prayers for Ed, his wife and son and family.

I can't believe that it's been a year since my dad passed away.

I miss his laughter, sense of humor and story telling....He is missed by many....I miss you dad.

I would just like to say Happy Halloween to you all....I can remember how excited I was when I was a kid going to school in the morning and talking with my friends what we were going to be later on that night for trick or treats...I would break out the good old pillow case and stay out all night filling that thing and then trading the candy with my friends later on that night.

On another note...I am anxious for tonight as I will be going to the Celtics game against the Bulls sitting in Box seats!!

I would like to thank all of you who made it to the Breast Cancer Susan G. Komen FASHION SHOW event in which took place at Eggspectations this evening.

I would like ot thank all of the beautiful models who did their thing on the run way, the USM Dance Team, the wait staff and workers from Eggspectations, the vendors and people who donated their time and goods.

I will keep you all posted on the next event.

I raised $1,050.00 for Womens Breast Cancer today and am on cloud nine!!

I would just like to share with you all that my fundraising reached an all time high this morning....I raised $1,050.00 today for the Womens Breast Cancer of Maine Foundation with the help of the Radio Station Q 97.9, Boston Red Sox Jacoby Ellsbury and John Lester and some great people out there that bid on their autographed 8x10's that I donated to the cause...

I met up the the Q 97.9 morning team at 8am while they were doing their annual bottle drive in raising money for womens breast cancer since October is the Official Breast Cancer Awareness month... I went to help promote the Breast Cancer benefit I was a part of on October 25th for the Susan G. Komen Cancer fund that was taking place at Eggspectations.

While visiting the Q 97.9 team..I told them I would love to help the also raise money too...I at first only donated 1 8x10 of Jacoby Ellsbury that was autographed....With in 5 minutes they closed the bidding at $150.00 and that was it.....Until I asked Morning personality Lori Voornas if I could donate another autographed 8x10 only this time it was of Red Sox stud pitcher John Lester....Lori was excited and went on the air saying I was going to donate another 8x10 autographed picture and it was of a cancer survivor himself John Lester...

The phone lines lit up and went nuts...the bidding started at $50.00 and rose to $150.00 with in 30 seconds...Soon we were at $500.00....I was so excited!!...Then it went up to $600.00...The bidding was hot and heavy...As both bidders reached $700.00 Lori had a great idea....She asked me how many prints I had left of John Lester...I knew I had two left..The other ones were auctioned off a long time ago at other benefits....Lori asked both bidders if they would be happy to pay $700.00 each and each get 1 of the autographed 8x10's that are only limited to 5......They both agreed and Bang!!! With in 30 minutes..I helped them raise $1,050.00 and I will never forget it...Thank you to the Q 97.9 Morning show, Jacoby Ellsbury, John Lester and the awesome people that bidded on them and gave their money for a great cause!!

I am happy to say that my 3rd cover shot and photo spread is all over the city of Boston. I have enjoyed shooting for Barstool Sports and meeting everyone I have been working with.

The Models and Martini's Runway show raised $700.00 for the Maine Children's Cancer Organization!!

I am very proud of how well everyone did at the Models and Martini's runway Fashion show my friends and I put on in helping raise $700.00 for the Maine Cancer and Kids of Maine program.

I was happy to present the check to the Cancer and kids on behalf of myself, my good friends Mackenzie, Tracy, Kaetlin, Tiffany and Monika and all of those who helped and donated their time.

I am sad to say that my Aunt Pat passed away this evening.

I just wanted to let you all know that my Aunt Pat passed away this evening with a short bout with cancer.

My family and I would like to thank all of you for your phone calls, e-mails, well wishings and prayers.

Never Forget 9-11

I always make it a point to post a remembrance to all of the fallen heroes and civilians we lost on 9-11.

My new studio location

I am now based in Falmouth, Maine on US Route 1 and the building number is 43.

The studio is right on the corner of the entrance to Mackworth Island which is where the school for the deaf is.

For the past week  between work and moving..I have been traveling to Farmington to visit my Aunt Pat who has cancer and has been placed in hospice care....It was a shock to me and my family when we found out the news..She was battling pneumonia over the past 3 weeks but we never imagined this...Her outlook on things have been very positive and she has been very strong but she knows that she will lose the battle soon and is very much at peace with this...If you have a moment...Any and all your prayers would be very much appreciated...My family and I thank you for your support.....I love you Aunt Pat.

My new studio location.

Moving is no fun!!

So for the past week ( Sept. 1st to Sept. 7th )  I have been moving..Today was the final moving day and I must admit..It was no fun!!

I apologize to any of you who I have yet to return an e-mail or phone call to...I had no internet for a few days and haven't been home much to answer the phone or to return  your calls...I hope you will understand....I plan on getting back on the horse and return your calls and e-mails tomorrow...Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Happy 4th of July to all of you and a Birthday tribute to my dad.

I would like to wish you all a happy and safe 4th of July.

July 4th is also my dads birthday. Unfortunately..This is the 1st year I will not be with him at least on this earth...My dad passed away this past Veteran's Day. I miss him very much and think of him all the time. I just wanted to wish him a happy birthday and provide him with a tribute in honer of his birthday...

My dad was a funny guy..Never a dull moment...He was a practical joker..Always putting a smile on somebodies face with the stories he would tell...He was like the movie BIG FISH...Tall tales that you never knew if he was telling the truth or making something up...If you haven't seen Big Fish yet..I highly suggest you see it..What a great movie!!

My dad was very Patriotic and loved the fact his Birthday was on the 4th of JULY...He always told me as a kid..The fireworks were for him in a way to celebrate his birthday..lol...My dad loved this country and served in the military when he got out of high school.

I would just like to wish my dad a happy birthday and let him know how much I miss him...I miss the laughs and talks after the Red Sox and Patriots games on how they played...

The name of my event is Models, Martinis & Mojitos.

This special event is a fund raiser which will be for the Maine Children's Cancer Program. We will not be charging an admission for this event but will be taking donations at the door. 100% of all money will go directly to the Children's Program and I can promise you that!!

Before you get to excited..I must tell you that this is a 21+ event and proper dress is required.

The event will begin at 7pm. The location is at Eggspectations out in South Portland. There will be alot of special guests attending that are involved in the Fashion industry throughout New England.

There will also be a fashion show featuring some of Maine's Top Models wearing some of the hottest fashions Maine has to offer. They will all be glammed out thanks to Cherry Pie for providing their hair and Make Up....They will be struttin' their stuff on the runway thanks to Maines Number 1 DJ....DJ JON !!...The fashion show will be announced by none other than our very own MISS MAINE USA 2008 Kaetlin Parent.

Some of the special guests and sponsors will be Pinnacle Vodka, Joseph's, Tommy Bahama Rum, Portland Style Magazine, Lucia's, Moda Bella, Cherry Pie, ModelingIQ.com, Port City Models, Utobia Models & Talent and more.......

I wanted to put on a event that helps out a cause I am very close to and also network with professionals and newcomers to the fashion scene.

Congrats to the Boston Celtics!! World Champs 2008!!

Tonight...I had to put on the green ( with  good old number "33" on the back and the last name "BIRD" and represent for the Boston Celtics up here in Portland,Maine.

My girlfriend and I went downtown to a popular sports bar call "The Stadium" where it was full to capacity as well as good energy!! From the first minute of the game..The crowd was into it!!..Every time the Lakers missed a shot the crowd went crazy...Every time the Celtics scored the place would go even more crazy!!

When the game ended..Hi Fives were all over the place being shared and smiles on faces. I loved watching Kevin Garnett get interviewed and the raw emotion he showed as well as that big smile Paul Peirce had...I am so happy for those guys and the rest of the team..

I would like to thank the 2008 BOSTON CELTICS for having such a great year and for making basketball exciting again for me to actually buy a ticket and go watch a game since 1995.

I will be judging this years Miss Boston 2008 Contest at Club Felt.

I cannot beleive that I will be shooting Rap Royalty "Slick Rick" tonight down at the Asylum in Portland, Maine..Slick Rick has always been one of my favorite rappers...My best friend and I used to drive around in his Ford Escort listening to "A Childrens Story"  and "The Show" over and over..

Happy Mothers Day to all the wonderful Mothers out there.

I would just like to say that i know it's hard being a parent..I do  not have children but I have had the pleasure of baby sitting my nieces quit often from ages 2 and up...I know being a parent is not easy and I appreciate all of the wonderful parents out there that are taking time out with their kids and teaching them right from wrongs. The children our the future and without good parenting skills some children will unfortunately fall through the cracks of life.

My mother "Gail Smith" unfortunately passed away from cancer back in April of 1993. I miss her dearly but know that she was and is a huge influence of my life every day...There is not a day that goes by when I don't think about her and how her warm smile would light up a room.

I am blessed to have so many wonderful women in my life that I would consider my adoptive mothers and value your love and friendships.

I became a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association.

I am proud to say that I finally became a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association today.

I was honored to speak in front of more than 30 other professionals about my business and my lighting techniques. I would just like to thank the association for their warm welcome and their kind words to me before and after my lecture  and am very excited and proud to be a member and will do my best to make the association happy to have me on board.

Congrats to Barney Martin!!

I would like to congratulate my good friend Barney Martin who is one of Maine's best and funniest comedic actors for landing a speaking role in a television pilot based on characters that were created by Maine's premier Comedian Bob Marley!!

To Barney's credit you have seen him On camera in Maine for the past 8 years in commercials, industrials, Megabucks Golf Guy, Handyman tools, he’s in a feature film entitled “Liberty, Maine” and his national TV credit is a role in "Murder in Small Town X".

Thanks to both Bob and Barney for putting us Mainuhs on tha Map!!

It was a good run...I will no longer be the Portland Sea Dogs Team Photographer.

I knew the day would eventually come...I spoke with the management down at the Portland Sea Dogs office today and both parties agreed that it was time for me and them to go different directions.....I have no hard feelings about this and am actually excited to see what is in store for me this coming year...I have been the official team photographer since 1995...I have help raise over $5,000.00 dollars with autographed pictures I have had the players pose for and sign for me to donate to various causes....I have met many great people on and off the field down there...I will miss the Ushers, Grounds Crew, Season Ticket Holders  and Craig Senior and Craig Junior in the club house...It's going to be strange when the next time I am down there visiting....Being 12 years of history with the Se Dogs has had a huge impact on me and my life...When I went through my battle with Colan Cancer I asked to have a room at the hospital to look down at the ball park in hopes of making me stronger to get back down there...My goal was to get better and get right back down there in the dug out shooting again....I will never forget the big lump I had in my throat as I entered the ball park again coming in through the center field doors...My eyes filled with tears of happiness and my body got all warm and tingly inside as I could smell popcorn and heard the crack of the bats and music playing over the loud speaker.....

I made some great friends...Shirley Bibber,Mary, Marty&Luke,Andy Young, Jim Bouchard,  Glen Jordan, Ken Babbit,  Pookie Wilson, Kevin Millar, Glenn Reeves, The Candages, Rodney, Jackie, Chris, Claudio Vargas, Nelson Lara, Andy Larkin, Billy MacMillion, Quinn Mack, Don Lemon, Rob Leary, Kenny Joyce, Jason Robertson, Josh Booty, Lou Lucca, Carlos Tosca, U.L. Washington, Dan and Bunny Burke, Gladys and Chuck, Dean Rogers, Mike Beveridge, Nate Robertson, Jon Lester, Craig Hansen, Will Cunane, Amuary Garcia and I am sure there are others that I will remember at a later time to add....

I am grateful that the Sea Dogs had me as their photographer as long as they did..I have alot of great memories being down at that ball park. I had alot of great opportunities through the Sea Dogs to do things I never would have been able to do such as shoot Spring Training with the Florida Marlins for 4 years, Shoot Boston Red Sox games, Meet former Red Sox that I admired as a kid, Meet Former president George Bush and know alot of todays stars and prospects.

It was great knowing that I had the number one baseball card set as in production and image wise in the minors for the past 5 years...This was actually told to me by the compnay that puts the card sets out for minor league baseball....It was always cool for me to see my work in Baseball America and Baseball weekly and even in the Red Sox year book.

Ella was the 2004 Maxim Hometown Hotties runner up in the finals. Ella has appeared in Maxim and is also an actress who will be in an upcoming movie with Ethan Hawke...

Today I met with the staff and Publisher of Maine's Style Magazine and am excited to announce that I will be shooting the next exclusive feature for them. They said that they are looking to head in a new direction as far as how the feature will be photographed and thought I would fit in just right.

The Good news and Bad news about Super Bowl Sunday.

First the Bad news...The Patriots lost to the Giants.

The good news...I raised $225.00 dollars at Thatcher's Restaurant in South Portland for the Maine Children's Cancer Program by raffling off a Jacoby Ellsbury and Jon Lester autographed 8x10!!...Thank you to all that bought tickets and thank you to the people at Thatchers for allowing me to continue one of my favorite things to do and that means alot to me.

These images are works of art where I am expressing my love for light and the body...None of these images are meant to be viewed otherwise...I am thankful to the models that allowed me to post these images on behalf of their written consent...I feel as I get older..These images are ones that I am most proud of because I think they can and will always stand the test of time when some of my fashion and glamour will go by the way side as trends change.

What's been going on....

Well...It's been one heck of a month...I am feeling like I am slowly coming back and getting my head back on straight though..I apologize to many of you for not returning phone calls and e-mails promptly..I just had to focus on me and my family and I thank you all for your understanding and patience.

I have been working night and day on my web site...I will be adding new images soon...I cannot wait for you to see what I am going to be posting...It's been along time coming.

I will make a post once I add new photos and I will tell you which sections these new images are in.

For the time being..I would appreciate it if you would go to my guestbook and just let me know your thoughts on my new site and work.

My Dads funeral information.

My dads funeral will take place at Meader and Son Funeral Home on 3 Franklin Street in Rumford, Maine at 11am on December 8th.

I would like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers and support you have shown me and my family through this time...

Here is how it all works....The shoot is $300.00....This kind of shoot is normally $500.00........We shoot in 3 to 4 outfits......You get a low res cd the next day.......You pick out 3 of your favorite images.......I get them them professional retouched and sized for the contest and back to you to enter.......You get a release form that will allow you to get the hi res retouched images printed at a photo shop or place that does printing....Every additional file you want to order is $25.00 and comes back retouched.......If you want your hair and make up done...It will be an additional $65.00.
